چکیده

Soil salinization seriously threatens agricultural production and ecological environments in arid areas. The accurate rapid monitoring of soil salinity its spatial variability is great significance for the amelioration saline soils. In this study, 191 samples were collected from cotton fields southern Xinjiang, China, to obtain spectral reflectance electrical conductivity (EC) indoors. Then, multi-granularity segmentation (MGSS) seven conventional preprocessing methods employed preprocess data, followed by construction partial least squares regression (PLSR) models EC estimation. Finally, performance was compared. results showed that compared with methods, MGSS could greatly improve correlation between spectrum EC, extract weak information expand utilization range. model validation PLSR based on second-order derivative (2nd-der-PLSR) had highest estimation accuracy among constructed methods. However, (MGSS-PLSR) all models, Rp2 (0.901) RPD (3.080) being 0.151 1.302 higher than those 2nd-der-PLSR model, respectively, nRMSEP (5.857%) 4.29% lower model. reason high MGSS-PLSR as follows: continuous raw MGSS, bands strong correlations respect concentrated during low granularity segmentation. With increase level, features decreased distributed discretely. addition, locations also different at levels. Therefore, can be effectively extracted which significantly improves salinity. This study provides a new technical means

Effects of Soil Salinity on Sucrose Metabolism in Cotton Fiber

Cotton (Gosspium hirsutum L.) is classified as a salt tolerant crop. However, its yield and fiber quality are negatively affected by soil salinity. Studies on the enzymatic differences in sucrose metabolism under different soil salinity levels are lacking. Therefore, field experiments, using two cotton cultivars, CCRI-79 (salt-tolerant) and Simian 3 (salt-sensitive), were conducted in 2013 and ...

Effects of Soil Salinity on Sucrose Metabolism in Cotton Leaves

This study investigated sucrose metabolism of the youngest fully expanded main-stem leaf (MSL) and the subtending leaf of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) boll (LSCB) of salt-tolerant (CCRI-79) and salt-sensitive (Simian 3) cultivars and its relationship to boll weight under low, medium and high soil salinity stress in Dafeng, China, in 2013 and 2014. The results showed that with increased soil s...

Evaluating different spectral indices in identification and preparation of soil salinity mapping of arid region of Iran

Soil salinity undergoes significant spatial and temporal variations; therefore, salinity mapping is difficult, expensive, and time consuming. However, researchers have mainly focused on arid soils (bare) and less attention has been paid to halophyte plants and their role as salinity indicators. Accordingly, this paper aimed to investigate the relationship between soil properties, such as electr...
